What Unstoppable Looks Like

Some people think being unstoppable is about having an attitude—like being bossy, pushy or arrogant. Others think it’s all about knowing how to do everything.

Actually, being unstoppable is not about knowledge or having an attitude—it’s all about who you are being in the face of your circumstances. Being unstoppable is the difference between letting your circumstances dictate how your life goes and you creating your own circumstances! So, what does being unstoppable look like?

Crankiness is an affliction we’re all troubled with on occasion. But, thankfully the best option for resolving crankiness, and choosing to be happy instead, is quite simple. It is called Clearing.

Clearing is a way of getting the internal chatter that your mind makes up out of your head. Mind chatter is made up of senseless worry and fear, and it is often at the root of crankiness.

Clearing can take on many forms:

It has been said that the sharpest and most powerful muscle a human possesses is the tongue. Chances are we’ve all been victims and users of a sharp tongue, and it is never pleasant. So, how can you keep from hurting others knowing how deeply a simple word can cut? Think before you speak.

Here’s how:

Step 1: Stop and think about who you are being. Before you communicate you should get clear about what you want the other person to hear.

Are you a procrastinator, always putting things off until the very last second? Most of us are fairly good at procrastination. It is part of our nature.

As human beings we have the unique talent of being able to procrastinate. We put things off, things we know we should be doing, to first handle those things that are squeaking the loudest. The proverbial squeaky-wheel makes it easy to avoid those quiet and sometimes dreaded tasks that await our attention elsewhere! We procrastinate from a place of: “I don’t know if I can do that”; “I don’t want to do that”; “I don’t like doing that”; or “I’ll get to it.” And, because it is a part of who we are as human beings, we have to put systems in place that manage our unique ability to put things off.

Life is pretty incredible, yet the crazy busyness that comes with can be unbearable. From raising incredible human-beings full of potential and juggling all that goes with it to working and providing a home and sustenance and much, much more, you do it all! Even when you aren’t doing something physically you are likely working your list mentally or solving a problem. Yet, think about the moments when you force yourself to be completely still… to do literally nothing. Those moments are rare for most of us, but there is great value in being still and embracing quiet. Think about it this way:

When you hear meteorologists talk about a hurricane they often reference the hurricane’s center as it applies to its strength. Guess where a hurricane is quietest… it’s center! The strength and stillness at the hurricane’s core shapes and defines it’s characteristics, and the same can be said of us.

In stillness and the doing of “nothing” is where you ultimately find your greatest strength.

Now, I’d like to think we don’t create the same sort of havoc a hurricane does, but we all have our moments, especially the three-year-old and teenaged hurricanes we know, and we certainly have a lot of life happening around us!

So, how do you find time to quiet yourself in your already busy life?
