"A vision without a task is but a dream. A task without a vision is drudgery. A vision with a task is the hope of the world."
Most of us live our day-to-day lives on automatic without giving much thought to a larger purpose or meaning for who we are or what we do. Even leaders with the greatest of intentions can fall into this trap too. So, what’s the problem?
Leadership that lacks forward thinking can quickly lead to discouragement and financial failure. Therefore, leadership without vision is actually dangerous! Think about it this way:
Imagine you are traveling in a car with your team, and each of you have your heads buried in your GPS devices. No one, not even YOU, the driver, is looking at the road! In this scenario, it is difficult to see how you could possibly avoid an accident, right? However, when you pay attention, ignore the distractions, take in the scenery, and are present to where you are going, you will have a successful trip! It's the same with being a visionary leader.

"Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there." ~ Will Rogers
As a leader, you undoubtedly analyze (and even over-analyze) why you and your team haven’t produced the results you are committed to producing, and as you’re surrounded by spreadsheets, charts, and other tools, you might even find yourself thinking it best to just wait out whatever is in your way. But, guess what? You have no time to wait. This is not a dress rehearsal. If you want something, now is the time to go for it. Get into action and get into action now. You can spend your time looking for the answer to the question, “Why?” and certainly there are things we can learn from this analysis. However, wallowing in "Why?" won’t change anything about the present, and won’t create anything for the future.

Change is everywhere, and none of us are immune to its effects. Just one change across the world can create a ripple effect that we all feel, let alone the ripples we feel from the change happening in our own homes and businesses. The current economic climate around the globe is a perfect example of that, and to have the life and business you say you want to have, you’ve got to be in action… not reaction… to the change around you! Meaning you can’t live life hiding under your covers. As a leader, you’ve got to be out in the world dancing with what the world throws at you! You have to be an emissary of change.
